Wow. What an amazing journey, i'm so sad it's over, but I can't wait to pick up Muse of Nightmares. Strange the Dreamer has easily become my favorite book of the year, and i've read over a hundred so far. Stange is a dreamer, who dreams impossibly brilliant things, he dreams of a world forgotten and a girl blue as a spring sky with stunning red hair. Strange has an adventure because he dared to dream impossible things, along the way his discoveries for a kingdom who've lost their name may have more of an impact on himself than the hero's he has endeared himself to along the way. This feels like the start to show much more than just a duology, I want to live in this world with strange for an infinite amount of pages.

This book was beautifully written but I was left feeling pretty angry at the ending when this book turned out to be a complete tragedy. There was a major question left unanswered: why couldn't Sparrow change the outcome? I seriously hope the author addresses this point in the sequel (although based on the description of it, I'm not sure she does) because if not that is an issue.

Ugghhhhhh I am dead. That ending. Ugh.
Anyways, this was a beautiful book and sucked me in immediately and never let go. The characters were all so great and complex and interesting. The plot was insane. I loved the words and stories brought to life in this one - counting down the days for Book 2.

I don’t enjoy books where they meet in the book and they fall madly in love in like two days, but I was a little okay with this one.
Overall I liked it, I think I hyped it up too much and let myself down.
Sparrow was my favorite character and we barely saw her, which honestly took the 4 star rating from this book.

Bigger review to follow when I have time but.... Laini Taylor has woven such a world and magic'd characters to life in a way that I have fallen in love with. It has McCaffery, De Lint, Tolkein era writing in it's style and I'm desperately in love with this book. Can't wait to read the next!

Took a few chapters for me to really get into this book, but after it really caught my attention and I enjoyed it. Mystical and descriptive, just like her smoke and bone series. I'm a sucker for the otherwordly.

So good! I actually stopped reading at one point because everyone was happy and I just wanted to enjoy it. I knew it wouldn't last. She does heartbreak so well...sigh.
