I always enjoy delving into Anais Nin's complex and fascinating life and work, and this graphic novel was a gorgeous contribution to that canon. The soft, colored pencil artwork is beautiful and adds a dreamy, sensual quality that perfectly matches the content. Definitely an engaging read for any who are Nin fans!

not what I expected at all. the illustrations were absolutely breathtaking, being done in what seemed like a single colored pencil with multiple different colors in the lead.

obviously the incest is not my personal favorite to read about, but it is based on Anaïs Nin’s real life which I didn’t know upon reading, so that makes the rating complicated for me.

however, her life, story, and sea of lies was very interesting to read about, and some lines were absolutely stunning.

Devastatingly beautiful and gorgeously shattering. A melodic first step on my quest to consume the world of Anais Nin.

This felt so dry and wooden with shamelessly trite dialogue. Some panels were pretty but honestly I wouldn’t have finished it if it weren’t for the fact that I’m out of borrows for the month.
