Such a pleasure being back in the world of Kill John! I’ve loved the previous three books, and this one no less. I love the author’s writing style, mixing passion with humor and yummy sexy times. You fall in love with the characters and enjoy their adventures as they fight and love their way through to their HEA.

Brenna and Rye have known each other since the band formed when they were teenagers. Brenna is Killian’s cousin and she’s been their first fan, even when their sound wasn’t so good. She had a huge crush on Rye, which Killian cut short immediately. So Rye resorted to ridiculing her to make her hate him. This started their long standing tradition of bickering and taking shots at each other.

One day Brenna was complaining with Jules (Scottie’s assistant) that she needed to have someone, not just for a one night stand, but to take care of her needs, to have something more than a fling but not a relation. While she was confessing to Jules, Rye was in the next table, eavesdropping. He immediately decided that if Brenna was going to start something, it would be with him and no other. It took some convincing but they did start a secret relation.

Their road was not without a lot of trouble, misunderstandings, and near misses. But the beautiful part was how the feelings developed, how they started missing each other when they were not together, the considerate ways Rye treated Brenna and how he was slowly crumbling her defensive walls. She had a lot of defenses, produced by her parents constant criticisms. My feeling is that they were always in love with each other but circumstances convinced them it was impossible and they would not work out.

The writing was brilliant, the pace fantastic and the characters all lovable. I love the banter between the friends and how they come running when one is in trouble. Rye had a secret he was keeping from his friends; the scene when it came out and the guy’s reactions made me cry, it was so full of emotion and caring. This author reaches your heart with pure feeling and I finish her books feeling wrung out and happy.

Enjoyable but not as good as the previous books in the series. The best parts were the interactions between the band members instead of the two MC's.

It was ok I guess. Nothing special or extraordinary. I was bored. I will just blame my mood because others seemed to enjoy this book. I consider it average.

All these books could have been 4 stars if the author dialed it back on the cheese.

“You once thought I was worth the risk—” My voice breaks then finds strength. “You’re worth it too. I don’t want to just be your friend, Rye. I want…I want to be yours. I want you to be mine. Wherever I land, whatever I’m doing. Because I…I adore you, Ryland Peterson.”

If I could give this book more than 5 stars, I WOULD IN A HEART BEAT!!!

This was so fucking worth the 3 years wait, it exceeded all my expectations! Brenna and Rye have been one of my favorite potential couples ever since I read Idol back in 2018, and I'm so happy to say that they made it to my top favorite couples EVER!!! This book was absolute perfection, and no one should be surprised to see me rereading it soon! I loved everything about it, EVERYTHING!!!!

I have to admit. When I decide to read this book, I didn’t expect it to be emotional. It was something that I never knew that I would get from Rye and Brenna. I have been waiting years for their book and finally, I got the chance to read it. Well, it’s obviously worth the wait because Kristen Callihan was able to deliver the best possible story for this couple.

In this book, it tells the story of Rye and Brenna where they agreed to become friends with benefits since both of them are lonely. I won’t be saying anything more to avoid spoilers but we can finally see and understand the past and present between these two. I have always been intrigued with this couple and we finally get to see the development that these two displayed. I really loved the relationship and chemistry that these two shared. They truly deserve one another.

Overall, it was an enjoyable read for me and I think that Kristen has done a great job in writing the story of Rye and Brenna. A total page turner where I was able to devour the entire story within a day. I really recommend for everyone to try out this book especially those who have been wanting for their story to arrive.
