There’s something in this book for anyone and everyone curious about the sources and impact of climate change.
Yes- the beginning chapters are rudimentary. But, the narrative arch they provide serves Hope’s message well by the end.
Hope’s use of data, current literature, & integration of UNFCC framework give this book the historical backing it needs to paint a clear need as to why human beings need to work together to make sure global temps don’t rise “2 degrees.”

Hope Jahren possesses the remarkable skill of explaining scientific concepts in a clear, concise, and understandable manner to the non-scientific community. In this book, she breaks down the major factors that are contributing to climate change, explaining the current state of our world, and what will happen if we don't change something soon. She is not preachy or accusatory; the Earth is a place we all have a responsibility to protect. She explains the numbers and what they mean in the coming years and why our constant need for more is problematic.
I don't read many books about climate change because they are typically dense and hard to get through. However, this book provides an in-depth and accessible approach to understanding the crisis we are dealing with and provides a starting point so that each of us can make a difference.

Good information on how climate change looks and why, in examples we can all visualize.
Part memoir but mostly climate science for the non scientist, Hope brings the reality to all of us with tips on how to make changes.
