I finally finished the book and I didn't like it. I loved the first two books, especially the second one, but this fell flat for me. I have the other books so I'll continue the series, but I really didn't love this book.

Reading the Dune series means embarking on an odyssey. Frank narrates what feels like a living-breathing history on an empire that rises, falls, and rages like a hurricane. Children of Dune will break your heart, confound your previously committed beliefs, and threaten the air in your lungs at the edge of every climax. A provocative and terrible tale of supposed fate, and the inescapable pull of power. I'm a little wounded having finished this.

appreciated the worm descriptions, tho I was a bit shocked about the sand trout cuz they don’t seem to be mentioned previously. Then again, I don’t expect the entire ecology to be laid out in the first 2 books

A beautiful continuation of the Dune Saga. This book dives even deeper into the religious politics of the Dune universe than the two previous, and makes you excited to read God Emperor of Dune.
