The book was interesting and informative, and I found it very helpful for putting a lot of my thoughts into words. I liked that it explored the issues of asexuality inside and outside the ace community, and provided a lot of new perspectives about sex, consent, love and relationships.

I feel like I personally only needed the first section, I skipped the second entirely and only read the first part of the third

I wanted more how it felt to be ace rather than stuff about laws and politics, if you’re interested in that stuff it’s probably good

It has definitely fit with my idea of being on the ace spectrum I’m just not sure where on the spectrum I am

It did make me realise that i was viewing my relationship with my teenage best friend in a queerplutonic way and they viewed it as a friendship which is why I was devastated when they put their partner ahead of me and completely cut me off

This book is very informative. You don’t need to be ace (or even interested in asexuality) to be able to learn a lot about yourself or the societies we live in. It is definitely going to make you think about the ways our view on love, sex and relation is molded by society.
However I personally would have preferred the topic of sex to take up a bit less. The author admitted to struggling to admit to not wanting to have sex, so I guess that is partly where the strong focus of sex in the book comes from. But there wasn’t really much of a representation of asexual people who are virgins and just don’t care in the book. I per would have liked to see more of that.
