I wanted to love this but there are just so many holes to poke in it - why do Ola and Michael communicate like teenagers when they’re in their thirties? Why are they getting married when they haven’t even lived together? (Because it’s obvious they aren’t waiting for marriage.) Literally 90% of the conflict would be solved if they saw each other more than every three days. Why does the story screech to a halt to describe outfits or interiors every few paragraphs? As a supposedly ‘feminist’ text it feels preoccupied with false allegations - two male MCs explored heavily in the book are BOTH on “The List” due to false allegations/blackmailing (by vengeful women/ex-partners ofc) and it seems to enforce this idea that false allegations are more common than they actually are, that women are all out to cry wolf at any opportunity, and that survivors are “privileged” or afforded some sort of clout in our society. Like hadn’t we debunked this shit in 2014?
Honestly came close to DNF’ing.
