I DNF this book. It had potential, but it could have done better. My first red flag with this book should have been when the author stated, āsince the original novel is in the public domainā¦ā It was hard to separate the play, novel, and movie from this book. I felt like the author took chunks of all the elements and through them in the book with few original thoughts and created the book. I couldnāt tell if we were back in the 1880s or modern day. I had to keep flipping back and forth to keep the characters straight. I only made it about 42% before I DNF. I kept giving this book about four chances before calling it quits.

Heavenly, Sinfully Delicious
I went into this a tad unsure of how thoroughly I would enjoy it, and I am pleasantly surprised to say that: hot damn was this amazing! Iām not big on naive and overly innocent readers, but it worked so very well in this plot. With the dark and controlling Erik at the helm, the story keeps you crying for more more more! I loved it so much!

I was most impressed by the quality of the adaptation and I also really appreciated the inclusion of both Raul and Christine in the fantasies instead of leaving him out.Ā
