This book felt maybe a little longer than it needed to be, and the plot got a bit convoluted and there are still some holes.
SpoilerLike did we ever learn why Jules and the other person in her car, who may or may not have been her husband, kept switching off before killing Trevor?
It tiptoed pretty close to having sex overtake the plot, but I think it just managed to stay in the 4 pepper range.
Still it was a fun read, and I enjoyed the darker aspects of it. I don’t think mafia-esque romance is a niche for me, but the occasional story like this one can be exciting!

Nordika Night is rapidly becoming a favorite author of mine! Her style is refreshing and something new!

*Leaving a review with no spoilers*

Blake and Mercer are A PAIR! I’ve got a soft spot for Daddy/brat dynamics and this book didn’t just tickle that itch, it blew the doors right off! Mercer is lacking in any scruples about making his displeasure known in the form of MONUMENTAL bratty moments. Blake, however, is having none of it. Mercer is a job. Blake is Mercer’s newest mark.

Go on this adventure of intrigue, secrets, violence, submission and love with two unlikely strangers. Sometimes it’s the family you find, and not the family you’re born into that set your wings to soar.

Oh man. I hate myself cos I just couldn't get into this. It's not the book, it's me. There's just not enough plot to my liking for my attention to get attached to. I mean, I love me some morally gray characters and smexy lovefest but something's not clicking for me enough to like and rate this as high as other readers did.

Full disclosure, I had high expectations for this book because Garron Parkand Lot 62 blew me tf away. I just couldn't help the comparison. Little Demon in the Details felt like it's written by an entirely different author, but not in a negative way, mind you. Just a different experience that I often forgot these have the same author. If Garron Park was all brutishly dark and rough and somehow controlled (for the lack of a better word) but still engaging, this one was written in a way that the author seemingly put whatever's in their mind into pages with no inhibitions whatsoever. Perhaps too freely that my mind oftentimes freely wandered away as well while reading.

Mercer's bratty attitude and his and Blake's horniness 24/7 might have to do with it. I feel like they're nonstop chatting nonsense and I could hear Mercer's whiny voice out of the pages lol. And I can't believe me of all people will say this but they're just screwing every damn second! And their approach to sex kinda lacked intimacy, like they're playing some sort of a role play game all the time no matter how they reiterate that's just how they roll and love each other. But you do you, lads. You do you.

I was really, really bummed how this turned out for me. I wanted to like this but just couldn't. Not giving up on Nordika Night's future works, though. I already look forward to what the author has in store for us next.
