I actually finished this one yesterday, but wasn't quite sure how to word a review or even decide on a rating.

Let me start of by saying LB Gregg is an autobuy for me, quite simply because I love her MCs. Quirky, often flawed but people I can fall in love with while they fall in love with each other. And this story was no exception, Jack and Justin are great and I rooted for them from the very beginning. But... and you knew there would be a but or why would I have been deliberating for so long, there isn't enough time with the two of them, I wanted more.

The first third of the book (when it is just Jack and Justin) is brilliant, I loved every damn line of it. Then the secondary characters came in, none of which grabbed me in quite the same way as the MCs and some of which I wanted to slap so bloody hard their teeth would have rattled, and it felt like too many ideas were crammed into too short a space.

So to sum up my rating

First third: 5 stars
Rest of book: 3 stars
Epilogue: (for the aww factor) 4 stars
Jack and Justin: 5 stars

Overall rating: 4 stars

Cute, but not as funny as I usually get from this author. Didn't feel at all like a Christmas story, it just happened to take place at Christmas. I also wish it was longer.

This book was great, and then fell short for me. I loved the concept of airport bathroom hookup turning into more, but there are certain milestones of a relationship that I expect to see in a romance that were skipped between the ending and the epilogue, which was very disappointing. I knew going in that it was a short, but I’ve read and listened to plenty of shorts that still managed to leave me satisfied. This made me feel like there was a chapter or two missing. Fleshed out into a complete story (and the Daddy kink that was hinted at explored), this could have been five stars for me.

That being said, what WAS there was great, and the narration by Nick J Russo, as always, was fantastic.

3.5 Stars - Sweet age gap story with some humour thrown in for good measure. I enjoyed it. We don't see too much of Jack's personality, but that is because it is from Justin's point of view. I would have liked to see more of their relationship and less about Chuck and Mandy's.

I really loved this book, I just wish it was longer! It was a good little read and had me laughing, swooning and just loving it. This was a bit insta-lust to insta-love, but I didn't mind for once. They both just stole my heart!

Justin and Jack had me from their first meeting on a plane, they just had an instant connection. The book may only take place over a matter of days, but you still see the feeling develop for each other. The other characters were just as amazing, especially Justin's friends and ex-boy band members, they were hilarious together!

I just wish it was longer, and that we got to see how their relationship developed after they got home. It did have a happy ending, but I just wanted to see how their relationship continued back home.

A really sweet, hawt, and funny book - far exceeded my expectations. My only wish is that this was the start of a series - not just a one off book.

Nick Russo was just the right narrator - he had me in stitches.

Audible version 3 hours and 47 minutes

This was a fun short story that made for a nice quick read - a bit of escapism with humour, a hot airport encounter, sweet romance and lots of secondary characters to keep things moving along at a rapid pace.

"Heat blistered my cheeks. Mandy could never find out I'd had sex with her father. Notever. Those were five words I wouldn't string together in this lifetime.: Sorry I had your dad."

Justin is heading to the wedding of his best friend and fellow band member, when the plane experiences turbulence. His seat partner provides a comforting focal point. Once they are off the plane, Jack follows him to the men's room for a hot and sexy encounter...
"Adrenaline. Anonymity. Age. You didn't know me. I didn't know you. And you loved it."
I swallowed.
"I knew you would. I knew it the second I saw you...."

Jack and Justin (a doctor) work really well together in this story which includes wedding antics, being caught by family and friends, coming out to the rest of the wedding guests, rock stars and overcoming age obstacles.

And this is book will definitely hit the spot if you are a fan of super duper romantic endings....
SpoilerJack and Justin get married under a sky full of fireworks...
"b>"Thank god. Not that it wasn't worth waiting for, but how soon do you think we can get out of here?"
I batted my boyish lashes indecently at my new husband. "Not soon enough for me, Mr. Basinger."
Jack squeezed my palm again, and I was home."

3.5 romantic stars.

I absolutely loved every heartwarming, hilarious and sexy word of L.B. Gregg's holiday novella How I Met Your Father. This quick read will have you laughing out loud as the members of the now defunct boy band Rhythm Method travel to an idyllic tropical island to help celebrate one of their former bandmate's upcoming wedding.

Justin Hayes' biggest concern about attending his best friend's wedding is keeping out of the limelight. One rough flight and hot hook up later, he soon discovers publicity is the least of his concerns. The bride and groom are concealing a big secret and that anonymous encounter turns out not be so anonymous when he comes face to face with Jack Basinger and learns of Jack's unexpected connection to the wedding party.

There is a surprising amount of depth to this fun-filled romance. Justin is still firmly in the closet, hiding behind the womanizing persona he perfected when the band was still together. Jack is rock solid and comfortable in his skin, but his relationship with his kids is not as close as he would like. Jack is older than Justin but the age gap is not as great as I first assumed and it was not really an issue for either of them.

Equally enjoyable is the rapport between Justin and his ex-band mates Chuck, TJ and Matt. Their scenes together are some of the funniest in the book, but many of them are also quite poignant. I really liked that they are not the stereotypical ex-rockers who crashed and burned. Instead, they are fairly well-adjusted and living pretty normal lives. They are supportive of each other but they are also brutally honest when they need to be.

An absolutely delightful story with a charming cast of characters, How I Met Your Father is a delectably steamy, light-hearted romance. The characters are three-dimensional and the various relationships are well developed. The dialogue is quite witty and the plot is unique and fast paced. The lush island setting is the perfect location for a destination wedding and L.B. Gregg's descriptive prose brings it vibrantly to life. A sweet epilogue nicely wraps up this outstanding angst-free holiday story.

I really enjoyed this. I agree with other readers that there is something missing. I usually feel that way about novellas though.
Love LB Gregg and glad to see another book by her!
