Great mature YA dealing with the aftermath of gun violence and drug use, yet it doesn't stay heavy throughout. This is one I wished I'd read sooner.

I just love me some Kylie Scott and she does not miss with this first indie book. This is a pretty big departure from any of her other books, and it shows. John and Edie are amazing, and yet, not so amazing in the way of typical teenagers. The book is all tied together due to them being in a convience story robbery, and John saved Edie's life. While that is the backdrop of the story, this is a story of self discovery, coping, learning about life, and trying to change your history.
I think that Kylie Scott did an amazing job of getting in the "typical" teenagers head and pulling out those feelings. One drawback that I have with this book, we never hear from John, we don't see his POV at all, it's all Edie, which I totally understand, but I would have loved to have heard from him. I really recommend this book, it's gripping, entertaining, and flat out amazing.

trust was a long and worth while wait.
what can I say the book just has be captured right from the start, so much to relate to.
I teared up a few times reading this and had a few funny laughing to my self moments.
this is a great read and Kylie Scott has mastered it once again.

This book starts out with a bang. Quite literally. You'll be hooked from the start. Two people (an unlikely pair) are forced into a situation in which they form a bond only they can understand. No matter what others think or say, they stick to their friendship. She wants it to be more, but he is out of her league. The book contains some thriller, some romance, a little bit of humor (though it is definitely not a comedy) and a lot of prospective and deep thoughts. The story is taken from the girls POV. The characters are intriguing and engaging. The writing is great (especially since it is a teen's POV... it's not all Dawson Creek-esque, where the teens seem smarter than they should be at that age.) :D Although it is a YA, I'm quite past that age and still found myself absorbed in the story. It flows smoothly and is easy to read. It is a YA novel, but I would not recommend it for anyone younger than 16-18, due to some of the subject matters involved. It does have some darker bits to it.

Wow. What an intense read!
I hadn't read the description to this book before plunging in. I am kind of glad I didn't. I had no idea where this was headed.
This book was all I could have asked for. So many intense scenes. I couldn't wait for the next one!
Read it. You will not be disappointed.

This is a must read book.

The story starts off with a shocker of a scene that left me crying and gasping at the same time.

Author Kylie Scott first time writing in the Young Adult book and she did an amazing job.

This story will leave a mark on you.

The complex of trusting someone, especially thru traumatic events as well as being a teenager coming into your own is one we can all relate to.

This book delivers it.

It also delivers a positive message to all to be comfortable with oneself no matter what everyone else around you thinks,

love whoever you want,

make changes for yourself: not others,

you are beautiful/handsome in many eyes no matter what shape, size gender, religion you are.

Learn to Trust yourself before you can Trust others.

This book provided a really interesting insight into the effects of life and death situations. It portrays how it can change how you behave and who you interact with and what you feel. I found this book to be very insightful and enjoyable. The characters were well written and likeable, and the story was plausible.
