After giving her own baby up for adoption, Grace goes in search of her birth family. Finding her two siblings Joaquin and Maya widens her world and brings her joy in going from an only child to a middle sibling. But each of the three have had different paths following their being given up by the birth mother.

Settle in comfortably because you will crack the cover of this book and then not want to move until you reach the last page. Oh, and have a box of Kleenex sitting nearby. I pulled out the tissues more than once as I whipped through this beautiful story of adoption. Any who know me know how much I adore multi-viewpoint novels. This was a treasure as we get three very different perspectives and storylines on the siblings from a single birth mother. Their paths were varied, their stories vast. The love they find endless – and the definition of “family” is questioned and sculpted into a thing of beauty.

I don't know how i feel about this book...
It's not bad but I didn't really connect with it.
The characters feel very stereotypical and entitled
the only one I did like was (side character cutie) Rafe.
Also...
NO KISS for Grace and Rafe?
Steal.
I did finish it because I was curious about what would happen with the biological mom and I was dissapointed to say the least.

Overall review: the premise is brilliant but the characters and plot twist are half-baked.

Far From the Tree follows three teenage biological sibling as they meet for the first time and develop a new meaning of family. I found each of their stories heartwarming and impactful and was fully absorbed by the author’s writing. If you are an audiobook fan, Julia Whelan narrated this one so beautifully!!

Read if you like:
-Contemporary YA
-Stories about adoption
-Found family theme
-Three alternating perspectives
-Well developed characters

This is a moving book. I loved the concept of new-found family and watching the characters figure out what exactly that means, even as they learn more and more about their past. But...too many F-words for my taste, which probably makes this a one-time read for me.

I just loved this book so much. The writing was beautiful, the characters were endearing, the story was tender and sweet and I was hooked immediately. It follows the story of three teens who are biological siblings meeting for the first time, and I just loved it!
