Meh. I enjoyed my time with this book but I really have nothing else to say about it. It was a somewhat enjoyable read, although, rather slow. I wasn't a fan of the writing style, the constant flicking between perspectives and calling each person by 3 different types of names, Elena, Mrs Richardson, Elena Richardson. Just keep to one, PLEASE, it may not seem like a big deal to many but it stuck out like a sore thumb to me and took me out of the story.

I won't give this a low rating as it's not a bad book it's just not a good one either.

Celeste has a unique way of wrapping you into a story that you want to keep diving into. I loved that the book forces you to think on many aspects of life concerning what is right and what is wrong. The relationships between characters are well developed and feel real. I'm looking forward to reading her other book, and the future ones that I'm sure will come.

I couldn't be more in love with Celeste Ng's ability to weave such a beautifully complex tale.

This book was so luxurious and rich, it felt like eating a decadent slice of cheesecake. Although I’ve barely been able to read this month, I’m happy that I found this one.

The plot went places I was not expecting in a good way! Wish the end had been a chapter or two longer but overall loved the way it progressed

Lots of story lines that I thought were a distraction from the main plot but it all added up beautifully in the end
