I adored this book. The development of the characters and the way he let the beauty of them peak through until you saw them in all their glory was astounding. Linus was an absolute gem and I loved watching as his character came into his own and found himself while finding everything he never knew he needed. My only regret is not buying everything else he's written when I picked this one up. But it's am excuse to go to the bookstore again.

This book is full of tremendous heart, beautiful/eerie/haunting/fantastical descriptive prose, and characters I won’t soon forget. So much in here about embracing the beauty of people’s differences, the bonds among chosen family, and the magic happening outside of one’s comfort zone! I highly recommend if you’re looking to get lost in a book!

This may be the best book I read all year

READ THIS BOOK ASAP!!

I’m not kidding this was the most beautiful story I’ve read in a long LONG time!! I laughed, I cried, I smiled, and grinned like a loon. My heart broke and then filled itself with love so many times I almost couldn’t breath. This is everything 2020 needs in one book.

The social commentary is so appropriate for todays’s age and the hope that comes out of this story is perfect to help ease the burdens of this year.

I don’t want to give any plot points because this is a book best read cold. Just know that each character is so well thought out and you will finish this book with a smile of hope and love on your face and tears in your eyes!!

It’s just perfection!

A feel-good read if not a bit predictable and preachy.

I went on a TJ Klune binge and I’m not sorry about it. Quirky, weird , extremely unexpected and not like anything I usually read, but this reminded me that fiction is not just pretend stories but fiction is magical, because it is using our imagination to learn and grow.

This book healed my heart in a way I didn’t know I needed. Representation, and thriving happiness for characters who were dear and sweet, 10/10 recommend.

Fantastic book.
Fantastic audio narration.
Fantastic author chat.
If TJ's other books are anything like this one, I will be devouring his entire bibliography.
