The plot, spelling, and character building were messy like a newly 21 year old sorority girl with a broken heart. This felt like a cash grab and a half hearted one at that. I genuinely feel that this book and the one due in December should have been combined. The first three books were so excellent and this book felt like it was written by a 13 year old ghost writer.

<SPOILER>

This is the fourth book in the Savage Lands series. These books must be read in order, they are a continuous story.

This book starts where book three ends, with Brexley finding out who and what she is. While Brexley was at the old castle with her mother, and the nectar she was pulled to Scorpion’s position at the some time. Brexley saw her “uncle” Andris dying, and she wasn’t ready to let him go. Brexley used her power to bring him back, and in doing so, the seven necromancers, including her mother. By being back so many at one time, Brexley burned through not only her powers, but the nectar too. By burning through her powers, she could no longer feel Warwick or Scorpion.

Everyone is after the nectar and what it can do., Brexley must guard it with her life, because if there’s any power left in it, and the wrong person gets it, it could mean the end. While in a mission Brexley finds Istvan’s lab, and sneaks in and finds what he’s doing. He’s stealing fae energy, even from children, in the hopes of making his own super human army.

Brexley is kidnapped by Killian, but he doesn’t want to harm her. Brexley tells him everything she knows. They go to her uncles so he can help, because it’s time they all worked together. They all ended up getting captured, and thrown in the new and improved prison Killian built to replace Halalhaz after it blew up, and he made it so no ken could escape. Istivan took over the prison when he thought Killian was killed.

Brexley is forced back into the games. She is forced to fight a fae, and kill her. Next, Scorpion and Hanna are thrown in with her. That’s how the story ends…. I can’t wait for the next book. I’m addicted to this series.

This book was not good for my anxiety, however, THAT ENDING. My heart hurts for the characters I have grown to love and root for. I cant wait to see what is next for them. This series is everything

“I never realized I had this gift until it was gone, and now it was a void in my soul.”

Um… ok… what the Savage Lands did I get myself into. As with the rest of the books in the series be sure to check your trigger warnings... that said... I absolutely love this series and Bad Lands has left me with a massive hangover and a cliff I can’t handle. Brex and Warwick are once a again the epitome of fire and chapter 16 proves that without a doubt (I mean… Warwick) but Opie and Bitzy are still my favorites of the show.

In book four of the Savage Lands series we pick up where we left Brexley and the gang after having found the nectar. Once again, there is a will they won’t they between our lovers and we find out some people are dead (or are they) that sets off some more won’t they all while Brex is dealing with the loss of her power.

The last bit of the book tore my hear heart to shreds and I just don’t know if I’m quite ready to forgive Stacey Marie Brown for it yet… I mean, damn, girl, did you have to?

I will most definitely be reading the next book in the series as soon as I can get my savage little fingers on it until then… send more alcohol …. And check on your friends that are just now reading it.

From the beginning I knew I was going to be skipping a whole lot of this book. I hate when love interests are separated after they sort their relationship out, it's frustrating. I didn't understand why she was so upset about Killian seeing as she literally did not know him. The FMC annoyed me in this book. She acted like a child and was so manipulative which was painful to read. I still felt like there was no real chemistry between the MCs outside of their physical relationship. This book felt like one really long filler book as they spent a great deal of it going over and over the same situation. In saying this, there were aspects I enjoyed. I liked that it felt a little scary and slightly more relaxed than the last book. The ending was also good. I have realised that I just don't connect with books as much when they focus on the plot more than they focus on the relationships - specifically the romance. That is just a personal preference and it is not a criticism of the author or novel.

Review:
I read this book in a few hours and I NEED the next book NOW!!! It was so action packed I constantly felt bad for the characters, they could never have a moment of peace. One thing that bothered me though was the whole mate revelation, it happened WAY too fast. And that their bond was non-existent, GIVE IT BACK-

But aside from that, this book has now taken my heart, cut it into tiny pieces and left them at the bottom of the ocean.

I feel like I’m brain dead from reading this for 7 hours straight on my phone with no breaks. It was totally worth it.

I don’t think I will survive till Blood Lands is released. Until then, I’m going to think about how much this book hurt me daily<3

(Before release date: I KNOW this is going to be amazing, no need to wait giving it 5 stars! I'm literary sitting here WAITING for this to be released, nothing else matters.)

After reading what I think is the best book (3rd book) in the series I think this 4th book is the most disappointing. Let’s get into more detail.

I will still acknowledge the fact that this is still good, however this specific installment focused more on the emotional side of the story and there are so many times I kind of got confused while I was reading it. There are so many flashbacks here which is kind of confusing and the riddles confused me more.

I think the events that took place here were just recycles of the events that already took place from the first three books which really disappointed me. However, the plot at this point becomes really solid that I knew the things that would happen next. The deaths of some characters were kind of predictable and I just knew that this characters weren’t dead yet because of how emotionally detached the writing was in relation the their “supposed” death scene. Also some of the terms were kind of cringey for me but I think it served its purpose at the end

First and foremost: Opie and Bitzy must be exhausted from carrying this series on their backs. BUT -
GAH!!! That ending has my stomach in knots. The cycle continues - Brexley is kidnapped, she escapes. Kidnapped again, thrown back into prison of horrors, had to fight and kill her friends again. But the worst part? WE KNOW THEM NOW.
