A lot of the problems I had with the first two books also appear in this one. I'll be honest, I'm glad to have finished this series.

To be fair, I liked how the story ended and all the loose ends were tied up.

Honestly, I didn't like the characters in this one as much. I didn't like how Alysoon acted about her marriage proposal after literally forcing her brother to get married for political reasons. I understand she was grieving, but it just seemed like a really shitty thing to do. I also didn't like how much she clearly favored her dead daughter over her son. I don't think that's what the author intended to convey, but like she basically begins to completely neglect her son after her daughter dies and it really made me dislike her in this book.

I also didn't like Queen Ellinsoltah in this book, which also sucks because I liked her character in the last two books. The book focused far more on her personal relationships than on her political life, and her political maneuvers in the past two books were a highlight of the story. Also she literally wants to have sex every time she's sad, which felt really unrealistic.

The two characters I LOVED reading about were Delnamal (the bad guy) and Kailee. For me, these two characters were the stars, and their transformations were wonderful by the end.

Overall, I'd rate this a 3 star series.

I think it had some interesting content, and I thought the magic concept was cool. They had women's magic and men's magic, and men's magic was always seen as superior but it turns out a lot of neat things can be done with women's magic. I will say, as a feminist, the feminist themes in this book came on maybe a little too strong. The point they were making was very obvious and it kind of became a detriment to the story.

Thank you to Netgalley and Del Rey for a review copy of this book.

The final book in the women’s war series, Jenna Glass does a great job at concluding this in depth series of what happens when the women in the kingdom are able to take charge of their own destiny. I was wondering how it would all come together but I can say I’m satisfied with the end and encourage people to give this series a try.

A really good ending to this series, which is hard to do! Dragged on a little bit in parts. Was exciting and the ultimate outcome was satisfying and not predictable. I enjoyed the multiple POV and overall world building. Also a satisfying epilogue that let us know what happened to all the characters while being interesting and furthering the story just enough.

This is a great ending to a trilogy. The character growth was well worth it. There is  depth to the issues explored as well.
I will be watching for more fantasy books from his author.

As a whole, this trilogy is now cemented as one of my favorites. However, this last installment did leave a bit to be desired. I found myself bored in the beginning of the book. I just couldn’t get invested in the two male (trying for no spoilers here) around which it focused. M

As the book went on, I did enjoy the introduction of other new characters, but found myself dearly missing the old ones. Luckily, we do get to see them again and it is with their stories intertwined that I found myself back enthralled in the narrative.

The Epilogue of this book was wonderful. The overall summation of everyone’s stories brought me almost to tears that part could not have been done better.

The series as a whole is great. Again, If you’re looking for a fae romantic romp, this is not for you. The dialogue is not the driving force in these books, rather the descriptions, background and politics. I enjoyed these aspects. I will continue to recommend these books time and time again.

I liked that most of the people seemed to be multi-dimensional. Even the villains had redeeming qualities or something about them that made me feel for them. The only one who seemed less multi-dimensional was Tynthanal, who seemed to be the perfect guy in every sense. 😂
