This book made me absolutely SOB.

I’m so obsessed with the characters. They all felt properly developed and I definitely grew attached.
I didn’t expect to resonate with Briana’s journey as much as I did and it was absolutely beautiful. Her dynamic with Jacob was also to die for. His anxiety was handled with care and respect.

It was funny, serious, thoughtful, and essential. It’s everything to me.

“He let me look into his soul. And the only thing in there was us.”

I will forever be kicking myself for letting this book sit on my shelf for a year and a half. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME!!!!!!!

I don’t even know where to start with how much I loved this. Jacob is holding hands with Bo Durand at the top of my book boyfriend list. He is so kind and gentle and precious and I can’t even describe how much I adore him.

I absolutely loved Briana as well! She was hilarious and compassionate and so selfless when it came to Jacob. Watching them become tentative friends and then falling in love was just so friggin sweet!!

And every side character was just absolutely perfect. I loved both of their families and their friends. This was just such a lovely story ❤️

Love a fake dating trope, love a shy MMC, but was disappointed with how they finally got together/admitted feelings. Didn’t feel like the right setting. Also got annoyed by the FMC being very stubborn but I guess that’s the Trauma. Also didn’t like how she constantly would say “I know this for a FACT” and that was literally not a fact…like girl if you just communicated.

“We’re all a little broken, Briana. We are a mosaic. We’re made up of all those we’ve met and all the things we’ve been through. There are parts of us that are colorful and dark and jagged and beautiful. And I love every piece of you. Even the ones you wish didn’t exist.”

It was good. Read it really fast, quite short. I cried a bit at the end. An easy lighthearted romantic book with touch of despair and deep emotions.
Hated the main character a bit. If the guy had issues, he was at least aware of them and handled it. She did not treat him right. Bjg issues in this girl. I am also so tired of books involving a surprise pregnancy. Having children is not always everything and if you get so much panic over being pregnant that you instantly push away the love of your life that has never treated you badly maybe the time is not right to have a child. Why is it always with these American books that abortion is not a question? It had not been planted in the book that the MC really wished for a child so why was that so important, all of a sudden? Felt rushed and it was a song I’ve heard before. It also felt as the break point of the story, where they confessed their love for one another was a bit anticlimactic?
I have read better books but I liked it as a filler for my daily life. Not that deep and some romance to flee off into.

I truly LOVED this love story. There are a few parts where it goes all over the place and there are a few threads that seem to go nowhere, but overall, it was such a fun, deep, hopeful, lovely read. Different enough from Part of Your World while still connected and clearly the same tone. Would love more sequels following all these great characters!
