Loved this story! A little bit of harlequin romance, reversed, but great revolutionary action and sacrificing yourself for a cause.

I should have known I would love this book since it's published by :01!! I was hesitant at first just because I am not into war novels but I started reading this graphic novel and got sucked in!! I loved it and wish they are writing a second one! I would love to see where it goes from here. I loved Colleen; it seemed she had the most layers than any one in this story. I also loved that the author kept some things to themselves until the reader really needed to know! loved it- you should totally read it even if this isn't the type of book you read!!

The ending was a little flat. All this build up for everything to happen in the last 10 pages.

Molly Knox Ostertag is one of those people for me. I'll probably read everything she touches.
This was a fun read for me. Speculative fiction - another planet or far in the distant future Earth where everything has new names. Another planet's residents have taken over and now oppress this planet's native population. We meet a young person who works in a factory, meets some new people, rebels & gets guerilla active, finds love. Pretty yummy, great full-color illustrations.
Erica brings some points up about the skin-tones of the primary characters that ring true to me.
I dug it, though.

While this graphic novel does include a lot of tropes, the facts that 1) it’s the first sci fi graphic novel I’ve read and 2) Ostertag’s art is phenomenal saved it from being a 3/5 star read. Such a heart-wrenching yet hopeful story, and….. did I mention the art?!
