Помимо всех прочих достоинств, у книги невероятный перевод на русский. Уж не знаю, повлияло ли это на мое впечатление, но я не нашла для себя ни одного минуса

This book at times was hilarious and nostalgic, but it ended up going in a direction I found really frustrating!!

This book was lovely and Cassandra was lovely and I'm glad to have read it. I think 3 vs. 4 or 5 stars mainly because the things I expected or wanted to happen kept not happening, not in ways that were exciting but in ways that make me think I just never quite caught on to how I was supposed to read this book.
SpoilerLike...a 30ish-year-old man inviting his 17-year-old almost-sister-in-law over alone and dancing with her and kissing her while repeatedly calling her a child is Bad News in my world, Contemporary YA world, so I read a large portion of this book wondering if Simon was meant to be The Bad Guy of the book, and I don't think I was supposed to???
I struggle generally with stories set in the early 20th century because I am such a millennial plebe, so I do think the lack of intense love is my own failing, since I did love the writing and many of the characters. DADS, for one thing. tl;dr I know that this book is beautiful and wonderful, but I don't necessarily feel it.
