How to Catify your home…because cat’s need special social and physical architecture to be comfortable…

Catification: Designing a Happy and Stylish Home for Your Cat (and You!) by Jackson Galaxy and Kate Benjamin is a cute book covering different types of homes for cats (regardless of the number).

The first chapter is very valuable as it covers the many cat personality types…as well as clues to their attitude based on tail, ears, whiskers, or other factors.

After that we get a break down and a TON of examples (complete with the names of owners and cats involved) for cat friendly homes.

Diagrams for cat related furniture are also provided throughout showing how even the placement of certain furniture is better for them.

There’s also a sizable amount of details on cat shelves and where to place them.

Various examples are also given for home improvement projects and building your own furniture for your feline roommates.

Peppered through are cat tips, lots of photos, plant related recommendations, and other helpful ideas…whether you are a current owner or planning to be one…

A great book overall providing several examples of catification and certain projects to build yourself however this books ideas generally only work for home owners under the assumption that you can nail things into walls freely which felt pretty restrictive their only being one example of a renter and that example not providing too many ideas of things to add to improve your cats enjoyment.

Thank you, Jackson, for all the eye-opening information about how to help my cats be more comfortable, and the excellent ideas I found in this book!

This book is so wonderful, I can't stand it.

I've loved cats all my life, had cats all my life. Indoor/Outdoor, every fluffy cat that crossed my path had to be mine. But Jackson Galaxy taught me more in the four years I've known about his existence than I'd learned in 30+ years of first hand experience.

I'm not handy in any way, shape, or form, but this book has me ready to run to Home Depot and start buying wood and rope and PVC pipe. I'm ready to enclose my back patio, and completely rearrange my house and make it a kitty wonderland. I want cat trees and kitty stripper poles (seriously, that's what it looks like) and cat shelves on every window.

I will own this book. Not just "want to", I will. I love that, along with "behind the scenes" from My Cat From Hell, you get every day humans who did the work to make their cats as comfortable as possible. So many fantastic ideas, so many beautiful pictures.

I want it all. And I clearly need three more cats. At least.

I’ll be honest, I had no idea this was by a reality TV person; had I known, I probably would have skipped the book. That being said, I loved the book! Lots of great ideas.

I was hesitant to give this book such a low rating (a two and a half if Goodreads would allow it), because I am a fan of Jackson and what he does for cats on his show. There was just something about the book that didn't really work for me. It almost seems like Jackson and Kate could have accomplished the same things with a series of blog posts.

This book is full of creative and awesome ideas to make your home a happy and inviting environment for your cats, and you. Cool ideas, simple directions with pictures and most are pretty cheap to do. People have come up with and shared some great ideas, and have put a lot of thought into them.

I loved this, but then, I adore cats. Jackson Galaxy has been a huge inspiration, his understanding of cats and his dedication to living a more healthful life are truly amazing. This guy is for real!
Recommended for any cat/pet owner.
