I love this story so, so much.
A good-written, and - for me - nostalgic read from when I saw the movie a few years back. And I have to say, the movie did a phenomenal job. This might be the first film-adaptation ever that really translated the book to an equally good movie. This coming-of-age story is unlike others I've read, but in its simplicity a touching story came through.
Highly recommend.

I give it 5 bc its my favorite movie, but definitely an instance where 1. the movie is better 2. you should see the movie first. just my opinion bc im not a hug king fan. rob riener made this book 1000x better and king was even thoroughly impressed w his rendition <3

The movie adaption of this book is pretty spot on, however there are just some details from the book that are not mentioned in the movie such as Gordie’s relationship with his brother and how his death really affected him or Chris’s character development towards the end which I felt was nice to read in the book.
