Enjoyable.

Some things didn't make sense (why have a "vending machine" on a spaceship? [I suppose just so they could point out that you can still get hurt in low-gee]; If the Chinese knew about "Captain" Darlington thanks to their spy, then how come they didn't know Crow was more than a protocol official?)

Despite that, a fun read.

Neoliberal U.S. propaganda - flawed and unimaginative at best, sinophobic at worst. The book was quite flat with the focus seeming to be the science, specifically nuclear engineering. I found the writing amusing at times and was curious where the book would go, but was frustrated and disappointed in the end. If you're really into near future sci-fi with a focus on science and realistic tech and don't care to question the current world order or imagine better futures, then this book might be your cup of tea.

Entrüstung. Kaum Spannung. Außerirdischer Technologie, Motiven, Ziele - sehr primitiv!
Miste mich zwingen bis zu Ende zu kommen. Nur Piraterie war zum Teil spannend.

Wonderful, realistic space adventure. The science is solid, the plotting is tight, and even the politics (mostly) makes sense. On the one hand, this reads a lot like a book from the dawn of the Space Age, but well-crafted. On the other, it has a lot of modern sensibility to it. It's really worth the effort.

Great hard sci-fi book with some well thought out science; also some interesting photography details. You can definitely tell the author team worked together well

Eh. I don't know how I feel about this. It was too technical for me.

A good sci-fi thriller with some science sprinkled in. If you love “The Martian”, I’m sure you’ll enjoy this too.

Well-written and engaging book, even if a few of the characters were a little hard to believe.
