Best couple, most well written of the 4 I’ve read in this series.

Electric Idol was my favorite of the two books so far in the Dark Olympus series. I felt that in Neon Gods Hades and Persephone’s relationship was so rushed and instant love. It wasn’t horrible but I didn’t see the hype. However, Electric Idol surprised me. Some of my favorite book tropes such as marriage of convenience and enemies to lovers are in this book. I really enjoyed the character of Psyche. She is a confident main character. I like how she defies some of the book norms. Psyche is plus size and she has to form a bond or relationship before rushing into sexual relationships. These are things I don’t often see in more spicy books. Eros was a character I slowly came to like. He wants to break from his roles and Psyche is the way to that. This definitely was not an instant love. They did have an attraction but not love. Overall an enjoyable story,

So I really enjoyed the first book in this series, but I liked this one even more. Loved the main couple together and the tropes were *chefs kiss*.

God damn it I liked this book too... WHY ARE THE NEXT TWO NOT RELEASED YET

I clearly have bias when it comes to books with side characters with more than minimal development and while this particular series doesn't overly focus on outside players, I'm still enamored with the different possibilities and am foaming to see if this author will extend her focus to more than just the next two planned novels or idly explain away some untouched plots during these unreleased books and call it kaput at 4 books.

Either way, I do plan on reading all of the following stories as this author has not done anything unforgivable with the myths, rather she has made a path for them to be malleable with her temporary thirteen positions. I have no way of predicting shit in this series and I prefer that.

Another fun Dark Olympus installment! I don't think I enjoyed the story as much as Neon Gods, but Eros is totally my favorite character so far.

I really liked Psyche and Eros. Eros is given the order by his mother, Aphrodite, to kill Psyche (because Psyche's mother has arranged for her to marry the new Zeus). But there's something about Psyche that Eros just doesn't want to kill her....so he marries her, in the hopes that it will protect her. I loved that Eros has spent much of his life basically acting as an assassin (both character and body) for his mother, leading to him believing the worst about himself. I loved that Psyche isn't a waif but rather has curves and it's appreciated. I just liked their dynamic. I also like that the author doesn't make all of her female protagonists virginal. They aren't always super experienced, but they aren't blushing brides either. I also liked that Psyche figured her own way out of this.
Eros kind of, sort of, rescues her at the very end but she takes matters into her own hands and sets up the plan to publicly expose Aphrodite. I liked the first book of the series but liked this one better.
