This book doesn't match with Percy Jackson but it was still pretty good.

This was literally my favorite book when I was a kid! I loved Emily so much, I thought she was so cool, and the idea of a Pegasus literally crashing on to my roof was something I dreamed of frequently! Reading the book actually got me interested in the Percy Jackson series, which lead me into more YA. I love this book because the main characters are so likeable, and it features mythology which is one of my favorite things to see in fantasy books.
And another reason I absolutely love this book is because I can read it as a teenager and still totally enjoy it. I found that as I got older I lost interest in a lot of the kids books that I used to read, but this one remained like a classic for me, and every time I read it I just fall in love with the characters and the story all over again.
This book is just so good, and I absolutely adore it! Definitely recommend!

Most of what prevented me from liking this book more is kinda arbitrary. I didn’t really like the writing style at all and I get unjustifiably offended when Artemis isn’t depicted in a way I find agreeable lmao (I warmed up to this portrayal of her but initially I really resented it)
