Quick and fun listen! I loved getting inside her head, and I’m even thinking about saying yes a lot more. I loved the discussion on women downplaying their accomplishments all the time (too true)

A throwaway comment from her sister makes Shonda rethink how she approaches life and this book looks back at the time she started to say yes and how it impacted her life. An interesting insight into the life of one of the most decorated series creator and how even when someone seems on top of the world, we can often be holding ourselves back.

I loved this book! I related to Shonda on so many levels. I am about to take a month off work to recoup from burnout and this book definitely has me thinking about how to live my best life moving forward.

It’s okay to say no sometimes. Like, “No, I think I’ve said my piece and will end the book now.” Inspiring to read as she overcame her anxiety but then a bit much as she kept going on and on and on about all the privileges she said yes to that are outside my universe.

I devoured this in a few hours and honestly…

I WISH I READ THIS BOOK SOONER!!!

I loved how inspiring, fun, authentic, and unapologetic Shonda is.

I found myself laughing often and at times, forgot that I was reading. I was completely immersed in Shonda’s book (or should I say Shondaland?)

I was always a fan of her work (Scandal being my favourite) but I decided to learn more about SHONDA and I defiantly did.

What Cristina is to Shonda, Shonda is to me.

Amazing book! 10/10

“Happiness comes from living as you need to, as you want to. As your inner voice tells you to. Happiness comes from being who you actually are instead of who you think you are supposed to be.”

Had some good points but did not like the overall tone or writing style of the author. It was hard to finish
