I can't say enough wonderful things to accurately express my feelings on all of Winterson's writing. Simple and well detailed, with normal life as well as fantastical out of this world scenarios.

When you get right down to the bone of this story it's about two people in love while one, Ali, feeds her lover exotic tales of what love is and should be.

Everyone should read this (they should read everything she writes actually).

as expected, winterson wrote the most beautiful prose. i enjoyed reading each clever and vulnerable line, though the story as a whole felt so repetitive. it did not make for an outstanding novel, and yet her writing style is always striking to me.

A lyrical meditation on time, reality, and love- if you enjoy Winterson’s style generally you’ll enjoy this. As I’m in this camp it was enjoyable and interesting read for me. Fun gender and sex explorations as well.

There are people out there who saw the 2002 staging of The Powerbook with Fiona Shaw and Saffron Burrows live (and survived) and I'll never stop thinking about That.

3 stars. The writing was gorgeous as to be expected from Winterson but I just never got fully invested into the plot of this one. It’s a bit convoluted and I definitely got lost in it at moments. It was all over the place but to be fair I’m pretty sure that was the intention. It just didn’t work for me personally but I’m glad to have read another book by Winterson because I’m a big fan of her writing style even if not all of her books are hits for me.
