Loved this book! Not my preferred genre…but the writing was superb! Drew me in from the beginning and the constant twists from start to finish had me hooked. Creative storyline, interesting characters, strong ending…this book has it all!

Thought it was ok....maybe a bit predictable but other than that I really liked the concept!

A fun and well paced read about a little niche of academia that was a fun read. As much as the characters were provided back story understanding their motivations towards the end of the book was baffling. The mystery element was predictable and the high stakes fell flat.

The concept and the writing were superb and kept me wanting to read more. I did sometimes feel like the stakes weren’t as high as the characters thought, but overall enjoyable with good characters.

This was a fun little mental break from more serious reading for me. It's an easy, fast-paced read, with a bit of suspense and a bit of mystery. I did figure out a major plot point before it was revealed, but for most of the book I was well entertained. I think what I found most interesting was the author's note about the real-life inspiration behind the book: the actual "phantom settlement" that turned out to be real.
