This book was terrifying and “hit a little too close to home.”

This was a really interesting read! I felt pulled in by the story and it was written well. Parts did feel repetitive (almost like the same sentences were used more than once, even within the same chapters).

Much more about the dynamics of the cult than the details of the murders themselves. I do not have true crime brain rot, so I very much preferred it that way.

Really hovering between 3 and 4 stars on this one. I loved that the author started at the beginning of her life rather than when she met the Family because her past had a lot to do with it. I'm not sure it deserved 1/3 of the book though, it felt a bit long winded. My biggest issue with the book is how preachy it is. God gets all the credit for her surviving the ordeal.

I listened to the Audiobook version. I was absolutely fasinated, and horrified at what Dianne went through in her life. What an incredible story to tell! Thank you Dianne for telling your story, especially for those true crime junkies like myself!
