This book is great. A strong all around good read. I would’ve however liked to see more exploration of Henry’s character and thief relationship. I thought that luc and addie were all around more interesting and in the end it was never really about Henry but about addie. I loved the game between luc and addie and the developement of the tension and thier relationship

I was entertained, but not moved. The concept is interesting, but the book has its flaws. The writing tried too hard to be pretty, and the story could’ve easily been shortened. Aside from her desperation, Addie didn’t have as much personality as I would’ve hoped for in a main character. I could say something similar for Henry. For me, Luc was the only character that was truly dynamic.

I was entertained, but unfortunately, ironically, I imagine the book will be easy to forget.

Be patient with this book. It follows paths that you feel like you don't want to take. Give it time. I personally have a love-hate relationship with books that jump between time so much that at some point you can barely make out where the plot starts and where it ends. But this book has a very definitive start and end, only the middle is blurred. I got lost in it, and it was beautiful, and sad, and madning, and insane, inspiring, wonderful. Her writing is addictive to a point where I'm almost annoyed at myself for how long it took to finally continue reading this book. And I also want to scream at her for the things these characters have to go through, and for how attached to them I got.
Insanely beautiful.

New favorite book!  Wow, loved the whole story arc, and such beautiful, memorable, luminous writing.  Very well done.  I read the book + listened to the Audible version - extremely well done by the talented Julia Whelan.  So good.
