This was so fun! If you’re into Charmed, The Craft or Practical Magic this is the book for you. 3 women find out they have Magic then proceed to learn it and get twisted up in some political BS. I could not call any of the twists that happened in this I was constantly like “omg what!!” This was just SO fun to read. I can not wait for the next one cause that cliffhanger UGH 😂

It reminds me of how a-list or similar YA books felt. It's been over a decade since I last read one of those books so it feels juvenile and dull

This one was a bit too young and cutesy for my liking, but a good enough fall read about three young witches learning all the witchy things. Some of the scenes were fun and would make great TV montages (the day they learned cauldron potions!), but most of the time I was bored by all the influencer/social media talk, the young romances, and even the actual point of the story! The mission these witches were out to accomplish wasn't very thrilling or attention grabbing (to me). This is not a dig on the book or the writing, it's just a season of life I'm far, far removed from and couldn't connect with.
Patting myself on the back for finishing this chonky thing - all 437 pages! Tbh if it was a show I'd probably watch. Maybe. Only if it was October.

Bad Witches was definitely a cozy read. Imagine three perfect strangers who discover that they were born on the same day, and also that they are witches. Of course, with great powers come great responsibilities and the three young women must learn to work together to control their newly discovered powers.
H.B. Akumiah’s debut novel draws on 1990s and 2000s classics such as Charmed, Sabrina The Teenage Witch or The Craft. There aren’t really any surprises in the story, but I easily let myself be carried by the fun and enduring good mood of the storytelling. Imani Jade Powers was a great choice for the narration. She brings an atmosphere of sparkles and craziness to the story, even during the few dead points.
