The team is back! (yes, I absolutely missed them all!!)

That alone made this a great story but this one is very current, chilling, and worrying. May Mr. Silva's thoughts never become reality!

If you are longing for the old team to be back together... they are and they are brilliant! I highly recommend!

First time reading this author so obviously jumped into the middle of a series for Gabriel Allon.  No issue there, still felt I knew what I needed to even with the first wife story line.  Having spent time in Russia I enjoyed that side of the story line, and having lived in Boston the Isabella Stewart Gardener museum part.  I enjoyed the Danish aspect of the book despite the geographical inaccuracies -Hellerup is on Øresund (the sound) not the Baltic Sea. I did like Ingrid’s character.  My reading preferences are largely influenced by what my parents liked.  My Dad loved spy novels, my Mom enjoyed cosy stories but loved the ISG museum.  Felt like this combined their worlds. Overall enjoyed it and will check out other books by this author.

The story itself is pretty good. The series has certainly shifted from Gabriel conducting the mission to be more of a director when called upon and introducing new characters to the mission and danger. Once again and to my disappointment the author insists on plugging his own personal political messaging into the novels which are both an oversimplification and probably insulting half of his audience with ludicrous takes. I beg of you sir, save it for a blog…
