I’ve never read the Harry Potter books as a child. I started reading the series when I was 22, and I never managed to get past the third book. So I decided to try again. The book starts rather slow and there is a lot of buildup going on. I had a hard time switching from the Muggle world to the wizard universe. The last few chapters, however, were exciting. It was not very ‘magical’ to me, but I enjoyed the story after all.
Tip: read and listen to the audiobook at the same time. It makes the story a bit more alive.

Liked the fast paced narration style. So magical and so imaginative. Can I just say that the movie was very well done because I almost think it was just as good or even better.
Loving the bickering between Hermione and Ron a lot. I just feel like the end was so rushed. I almost feel like the pacing of the book could’ve been a tad slower.
BUT UM, wtf were all the anti Semitism comments and turban stuff?? Made me very uncomfy.

It’s been years since I read this book, and I think I appreciate it more now than I ever did as a young reader. The emotional connection you make with these characters is what strikes me the most. I’m excited to continue re-reading this series (admittedly I never finished it back in the day).
