Masterfully written, of course.  But a little too tense and too much of a psychological thriller to truly enjoy.  I liked Murder on the Orient Express much better.

Agatha Christie is the queen of mystery. This whodunit had me invested from page one. Such good plot twists! Some language definitely didn't age well.

Very much enjoyed.
Entertaining and fun, and I loved Dan Stevens as narrator.
It felt a little cliche, but then I remembered it's only seen as a common trope because Agatha Christie popularized it :)
I liked the end a lot. The only thing that may have made it more enjoyable would be getting to know the characters a little more. Even after finishing I don't feel like I really knew or cared all that much about any of them. But I think the point of this type of story is more the mystery than the characters themselves.

Oh boy this is my favourite book of all time. I am a sucker for Agatha Christie's work and this is by far the best. The characters were likeable but they all had that little something that made you think "Something's wrong." Now I'm going to be a basic bitch and say Lombard was my favourite because he was really interesting and the only one smart enough to actually find the killer only to be tipped off by the other stuff going on. He was so close!!!! 😭 We also don't get a lot of background information about him which makes him even more intriguing. Another character I really liked was, extremely fucking unsurprisingly, Vera Claythorne. I liked her ON HER OWN, not like a pair for Lombard, distastefully portrayed in the 2015 miniseries. She was a fun character, her dark past adding to the innocent nice girl façade, making you wonder how far she would go to achieve something she wants. GO READ IT‼️🫵
