I struggled to connect with the characters for much of the book, but the ending had me in tears. It is hard to connect with people experiencing grief, even when they’re fictional, and that made this book all the more worthwhile to read. It helped me to remember that sometimes people just need you to keep showing up.

The most unfathomable part was her buying out a Barnes & Noble with just $14,000.

While it offers a raw take on grief, the insta-love cliché feels juvenile and nauseating, and the main character is insufferable.

I should probably start reading the synopsis so I don’t get myself into these situations.

Although the main storyline behind the book is very sad, the story as a whole was rather sweet. I loved the relationships that developed and how the characters were able to express real emotions given triggering situations. 

I listened to the audio and at the end was a conversation between narrator and author. I love that Taylor doesn’t see this as a sad book and I get her reasoning. It made me like the story that much more.
