I found this book too confusing and grammatically incorrect to the point where I couldn't focus or understand what was happening. There's barely any storyline to keep readers engaged. I was completely unprepared for the ending, not in a good way (because it's a twist or happily ever after), but in the way that I didn't know it was the end of the book because it just stopped.

The missing word. Parents who lose children. Who don't murder them, but lose them. What are they called, how do you say it, who is someone whose child has died?"

For Irina Lucidi - whose estranged husband takes her twin daughters on a weekend, and takes his own life, The twins vanish into thin air, most likely dead - there are no words.

Based on a true story, told across different forms - correspondences from Irina or people writing to her, and first person accounts, The Missing Word takes a true story and portrays a difficult to talk about subject with unflinching honesty

I was really feeling it and honestly could finish it but then realized it was based on a real story which made me very sad and then the next like. Chapter? Chunk? was weirdly ableist about the husbands OCD and it just put me off a lot and made me not want to finish it. I think if it was just one or the other I'd be able to finish it but both was too much
