I officially love this one better than FBAA. It had an exciting plot with a good mix of action and dialogue, with just enough spice to not be overwhelming for me. I absolutely loved Sera and Nyktos, and all of the mythology. I loved learning more about the gods and primals, the history of the kingdoms and bits that obviously play into the FBAA series, and of course the draken!

I forgot to list this as read with everything that happened with TWOTQ.

This was good, a bit of the same, but JLA is so good at writing banter and romance, I didn’t even care. And there’s something about a virgin Primal god that is irresistible.

Original review:

“Make him fall in love, become his weakness and then end him...”

I enjoyed this so much more than I enjoyed From Blood and Ash. The story was clearer, and the romance was stronger.

This wasn’t it for me, sis. Half of this was a copy and paste of FBAA and the half that was original material wasn’t fully hashed out and built well. So little happened for a book that’s over 500 pages.

JLA did it again! Another book that was captivating and provided some awesome backstory to our Blood and Ash Series.

Pros:
-Nyktos - learning about him and Sera
-Drakon and the sweet babies
-Seeing all the gods and learning about where they live
-Some obvious clues but it was really cool to see them play out

Cons:
-Some of the felt a bit repetitive to Blood and Ash. Yes there will be some similarities but I felt it a bit too much.
-I really enjoyed this book but I'm knocking it down .5 stars due to not feeling the captivating 'I need to read this now' feel during it. Could possibly be because of the Blood and Ash similarities

I am a true JLA fand and this book was no exception. I cant wait for the next in the series to see what happens. She knows how to leave a good cliff hanger that's for sure!! And the clues to War of Two Queens. 5/5 recommend this series.

At first, I thought about giving this book 2/3 stars. But at the end, I finally gave 4 stars!!! I knew Jennifer L. A is a very good romance writer but I JUST knew she excels in fantasy romance too! I know her Obsidian series but have no desire to even put it on my TBR list. I will do later.

To be honest, 2/3 of the book is quite boring, the pace’s too slow, too many conversations and self-narration. But at the end of the book, is where the fun begins. Even 2/3 of it was boring, 1/3 of it made up for them. The one three itself gives me a jolt of thrill and anticipation to pick up the next book. Like, hell, I know I currently reading TOO many books but they HAVE TO wait.

I like the part where the author insert a really humanly sense of Sera in this book. Her recklessness, her banter to others and no fear at all to challenge them. I like that part. She still infused the book with what a 20 years old will do all the time: being foolish and reckless

Ahhh, new addition to the list of fave series. It was a little jarring at times when the author mixed old timey words with new slang lingo, but overall it was a fun and captivating read. Particularly fun to see the some of the history of things that we saw in the FBAA series. Already looking forward to the next one :D

This took me so long due to a slump not due to the book! I’m stuck between a 3 and a 4⭐️ review on this one purely down to the last quarter of the book!

This was extremely similar to FBAA but in saying that, I adored Sera! I think she’s a fantastic female MC and heroine and I cannot wait to see what JLA is going to do with book two!
