Tragic but yet beautiful. This one was a definitely a tear jerker. Have tissues ready.

The shock i felt reading the 18th and 19th volumes… Words cannot describe what I’m feeling, I’m at a complete loss for words, I haven’t cried or felt such intense emotions with a book or series in a long time. I didn’t know what to expect when i first read this, I bought the first few mangas because it was popular, it was queer coded and had a bit of angst with an art style i liked, that’s all i knew walking into it, just imagine my shock when i get smacked in the face with the toughest storyline ever with characters that would grow on me unexpectedly. Cue me crying to my friend (who had previously watched the anime) at 12.30am crying because I was reading the 19th vol. … Currently staring at the wall, I don’t think I’ll ever get over this.

the ending was tragically beautiful. ash dying at a place where he can be aslan jade callenreese. a place where he doesn't bear the weight of the expectations of his groomers. a place where his past doesn't haunt them. a place where he can not only think but be friends with eiji. its rare reading an ending which perfectly places the full stop upon its story.
