I don’t really have anything to say about this book I felt I was like bored throughout the book
it was a nice book to read but I wouldn’t go again and re-read it

DNF-ed at 75%

After leaving it at 75% and hoping to the heavens that something would enable me to reach for it again, I realized that there's probably a good reason why I still haven't finished it yet even though I started it in April and have since gone on to start and finish many other books (and even reread some to stave off a reading slump

3.5⭐️ After loving the Sutten Mountain series, I had to go back and read this book since there was so much Beck and Margo in Tempt Our Fate. This was an easy binge and had amazing steam. However, I was wishing for more plot in the first half of the book rather than just all the back and forth! Still, some of my favorite tropes and will definitely pick up the next in the series.

What to expect
-billionaire romance
-fake fiancés
-ex’s brother
-workplace
-back and forth
-big grand gestures for love

ex’s brother? yes. fake dating? yes. forced proximity? YES. however, it was very vEry fast paced. i blinked and then suddenly they were head over heels for each other as if they had been in love for years and no the whole ‘i’ve had a crush on you’ doesn’t count. i liked it but there wasn’t a whole lot of depth.

Well, Margo and Beck have an “unconventional” start, but this was fun. Definitely spicy, so not something you’d share with all readers.

This is a billionaire, fake fiancé, brother’s ex, forced proximity romance novel. This is a standalone book by Kat Singleton.

Black Ties and White Lies is an ok read. I fell asleep like five times trying to read this but once I got so far I refused to not finish it. I’m completely torn, because I wanted to love this. I dove in expecting to love it.

At first, I really liked the banter and the playfulness between Margo and Beck. It was entertaining and made for some laughs. It was cute, quirky and just silly.

Around pg.100
It started getting a little bit annoying like this book is just going back-and-forth of them messing with each other, arguing and about how their not having sex and its missing a real plot. It seemed like scenes were being skipped, just so they could fight or hide in their rooms being mad at each other. It was just going in circles with no real direction.

I would’ve liked more conversations of their actual job and life in general than all the arguing back-and-forth. More like a get to know you better session. It’s a lot of why can’t I f*ck you yet…. It was frustrating because this book had potential to be great, if it grew an actual storyline. There is no real build up. I kept finding myself exiting this book to read other things, when it wasn’t making me doze off
