Romance wasn't really real... Maybe if we had heard from his side of the story it might've made more sense.

Main character doesn't really have to try much of anything, just has to be willing to do what is right. Her clumsiness and naivete is very annoying. I do like that she stays true to herself in the end but I feel someone as naive/ childish wouldn't have actually been smart enough to do what she did.

The plot and fairytale-like story was actually really interesting and I wish it had been given more then a grumpy-wizard and annoying witch to accompany it.

I really don't like that they called him the dragon.... He WASNT a dragon and I totally thought he was for a good portion of the beginning of the book.

I actually liked all the side characters. The prince was evil but not completely, the best friend was complex and had an interesting story, the Falcon wizard wasnt good or bad and did what he thought was best for the most part. I found them all to be interesting and realistic compared to the main characters.

This really didn't work for me. I did enjoy the first half/worldbuilding, but the second half fell flat. I surprisingly think this could've been a trilogy instead of a standalone. It felt really rushed in the back half to resolve plot threads.

Also 0/5 for the Dragon being the love interest. I did not need the 17 year old falling for the centuries old magic man romance. Also it was barely in the book so why have it at all?

I really didn’t like the FMC at first. Her character development was great though and I warmed up to her. I enjoyed the folklore style fantasy. It was a slow book at times but the story woven through it is great. It was a pretty dark book overall but had the theme of hope running through it.
