This book was great and captivating with most unexpected plot twist that is kind of ridiculous and I was left in shock for hours thinking about it. If you just decide to go with it, the story is really good

Okay... wow... there's a lot. I don't know if it's just the sheer fact that I love thrillers or if this was actually amazing. I finished it in less than 24 hours. There were so many dark twists and I had no clue who did it until the end. It had me guessing for sure. Most of the chapters (towards the middle of the book) ended with cliffhangers and I just HAD to finish it.

I would definitely recommend if you're into paranormal thrillers/horror books.

(Also the Taylor Swift references were INSANE for a thriller and the quote was from no body, no crime by Taylor which made me so happy, I can't.)

my low rating is caused by a sudden supernatural turn in events

This book was absolutely incredible. the storyline, the characters, the plot twist... it was so amazing. The ending was truly something I did not see coming. after every page it kept me guessing who did what and who was involved and who couldn't be trusted. I 100% recommend this book 5/5 stars!!!!

I can totally get why people might not love this book. I really enjoyed it, it’s a fun thriller that has a good number of twists and turns, always keeps you guessing, and has some enjoyable characters.

But the quick turn into the paranormal absolutely comes as sort of a shock and feels like it came out of nowhere. Riley Sager took a big swing with it and I respect him for that.

Did that work for me? It was fine. Certainly it wasn’t where I saw the book going, but I was fine with it.

I do think that swing elevated the book from a perfectly enjoyable thriller to a more interesting one. To that point, the book was wading through well-trodden waters that have been used over and over going all the way back to Rear Window.

That’s not necessarily a bad thing—you can do something that’s been done before as long as you do it well, and I thought Sager had been doing it fairly well to that point, crafting an interesting mystery.

I like the swing he took, the book was a fun ride (I mean I literally read it in 24 hours, so obviously I enjoyed it) and an easy read.
