Probably 2.5 stars, but I'm rounding down because I wasn't really inclined to enjoy all the teenage angst going on in this. I honestly thought it could be about half as long as it was if not for prolonged periods of moping on Violet's part, and the most interesting parts of the story for me were barely touched upon. (I assume this was so the author had something about which to write in the later books, but it left me feeling very unfulfilled.) I really, really could have done without the love triangle as well, although I think that's pretty standard in a lot of paranormal teen genre.

The one thing I am looking forward to finding out is about Violet's angel parent, which I assume will be part of the later narrative.

I could not put this book down! I read the entire book, cover to cover, in one sitting. I would recommend this book to any and all fans of Young Adult books.

I thought this book was hands down great. It had wonderful character's, twists and turns that you don't see coming.... And Violet is a great character I like her personality and the characteristics of her character are amazing. She is so strong but vulnerable to her friends, she loves and hates at the same time and she has so much going on in her life, and some of it makes no sense to her and some of it she just goes along with. The other characters in this book are amazing they have so much passion...... and there's a love triangle, there is forbidden love as well. this book has so many emotions wrapped up in it you laugh and then you cry. This book also has family issues and things that we actually deal with in reality, It really touches your heart and when you get to know these characters on more than just a character level you think you know them as a person that they're actually real. Which is another thing I love about books is that you can relate, and in this book and throughout this series you really got to go through and relate things to your own life and how you see things. But you also get to go along this journey with these characters.

First off, I have read a lot of awesome reviews on Embrace! I went and checked out all of the giveaways and blog tour stops for Embrace also! I was lucky enough to win a copy from a giveaway, and I was so excited!!! I couldn't wait for it to arrive so I checked it out of my School Library, and read it in 3 days!

Embrace is about a girl named Violet Eden who went suffered through a really bad situation in her life and moved away with her Dad to a new school. When Violet was born her Mother died shortly after giving birth to her. Violet has two best friends which are Steph and Lincoln, but Violet soon finds out that not everything and everyone is as it seems.

Violet has always had feelings for Lincoln, but has never had the guts to tell him because she thought he wouldn't feel the same way about her. Well, she was wrong! There is way more to the story than that. On her 17th birthday, Violet's Dad gave her a box that was from her Mother. He told her that her Mother told him to give it to her on her 17th birthday. After this night Violet and Lincoln's relationship will be changed forever. There are secrets that Lincoln has been hiding from Violet and he kept holding off telling her. When she shows up to his house one day she over hears him talking to someone about the secret he's been hiding from her and she finds out everything! While angry with Lincoln, Violet seeks comfort in Pheonix a guy whom she met on her 17th birthday.

In this story you will be constantly wondering what is going to happen next! It is so so so GOOD! I stayed up literally all night one night reading this book. The ending will leave you breathless and addicted. I couldn't get to the sneak peak of Enticed fast enough, and it still left me WANTING more. Violet will go through a big journey of finding out who she really is and who the people in her life really are. I really enjoyed reading this book, and anxiously awaiting Enticed!

Okay, so now for my rant! I wanted to punch Pheonix in the face towards the end, and I felt so so bad for Lincoln! Now don't get me wrong a part of me still likes him and I can't wait to find more about his character's history in the next book! I am team Lincoln all the way :) Steph was an amazing best friend and at first I thought she was shallow, but as the story progressed that changed. The characters make you feel like you actually know them. Jessica did an awesome job of making me care, and feel involved in this story.

If you haven't read this book yet, you definitely should. It is an AMAZING debut, it doesn't even seem like a debut to be quite honest. Jessica Shirvington is a talented and amazing Author.

Wow. This book blew me away! I thoroughly enjoyed the overall story line of the book and felt that it was very well written. First of all, I loved Violet. The first impression I had of her left me thinking, "We'd be friends". She was strong and natural (by 'natural' I mean she acted like a normal teenage girl for the majority). However, I did not like the relationship, or lack of one, between Violet and her father...I know that it probably had to be that way but I mean, come on, she might as well not even have a parent. When the term "Grigori" was first mentioned (pg 61) my mind immediately went to Fallen, mostly because I had just gotten done reading that book. At that point I got a little worried because I didn't enjoy said book very much and didn't want to torture myself by trying to trudge my way through another book that was similar. THANKFULLY, that did not happen. Anyway, let's talk boys!! First, Lincoln. Can we say amazing, handsome, caring, everything you want in a guy?! Yeah, we can. This though, leads to some frustration. It's not because he's too perfect, he's not. It's the fact that he is so...controlled. Ugh...just UGH!! Phoenix = bad boy, sexy beyond belief, charming to the max. Yeah I totally enjoyed the love triangle in this book. It was so well written and Phoenix was just so...well HOTT!! Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It is starting to remind me of another series by Jennifer Armentrout called Half-Blood (great series btw). The overall idea of the book and the love triangle is just eerily similar...don't really know how I feel about that yet. We'll see as I progress through the series. **SIDE NOTE: The 6th and final book in this series was just released at the beginning of May 2014

Just wasn't worth the time. I should've re-read Fallen as that experience was what I was hoping for.

I started this book years (nearly a decade) ago and didn’t finish it because it was the worst book I’d ever tried to read. Today, I finished it and can now confirm it is definitely the worst book I’ve ever read.
