Je voulais de la magie, je me retrouve avec une romance sans alchimie ???

J’hésite toujours sur ma note, pour moi c’est entre un 2 ou 3 ⭐️ maximum.

I seriously love this so much. I loved the atmosphere the vibes, and I really loved that even though it was young adult, he didn’t feel young adult which was really refreshing. ( since YA isn’t usually a preferred genre of mine )

I won’t spoil anything but I will say the ending was so bitter sweet for me THE LOVE, THE LOSS, THE DRAMAA ugh couldn’t get enough. The ending of this book truly smacked me to the ground and then lifted me back up.
And sue me, but that is so rare. Book endings are so important for stand-alones and this one did not disappoint. Most all the characters had depth and were very likable. This book left me with a warm melancholy feeling. I would marry this book if I could. Haha

Dreamlike

I really liked the audiobook; the narrator read it in a dreamy haze-like way. At times I didn’t care for it, for instance when I’m driving to work at 7:15 a.m. and haven’t had any caffeine yet.
Still I think it suited the story perfectly and the story was great. It took its time getting interesting but I liked Penny’s perspective. And I like Hazel’s introduction because I didn’t see it at all until it was said outright.

Sad that the story is concluded but I think it’s a good ending and I don’t know if the story could be expanded on for more books.
Shea Ernshaw is definitely an author I need to keep eyes on. ❤️

Not sure, but this must be a YA novel. It was interesting and a good read - some silly "love" parts, but overall a good witch tale.

I really liked the first 3/4ths of this book
I didn’t really like the plot twist but it ended well

I picked this up because one, it's witchy, and two, it's been optioned by Netflix. I've seen a lot of hype about this, so I was just slightly let down -- that is definitely more my fault -- but I enjoyed the mystery alongside the centuries-old curse. It's atmospheric, haunting, quite moving in parts, and has a lovely romance, and compelling storytelling. If you love revenge, romance, witches (who doesn't?!), and atmospheric books, I would definitely recommend The Wicked Deep.

The town of Sparrow is cursed. It has been cursed for centuries-ever since the small and isolated town drowned three girls they deemed to be witches. They tied stones to their ankles were thrown into the depths of the sea to drown. And every year since the girls come back, their song drifting over the sea trying to lure girls into the sea to steal their bodies. With these bodies they get their revenge, they drown boys, dragging them to their watery depths. Penny Talbot has accepted the fate of the town, but when a stranger called Bo Carter, Penny has a strong urge to protect him from the sisters. The townspeople turn against each other trying to find the sisters before more men drown.

The Wicked Deep was a beautifully haunting read. Atmospheric, lush writing, and a brilliant witchy vibe. It was full of witches, revenge, secrets and murder, and if that is your thing then I do highly recommend that The Wicked Deep goes to the top of your TBR shelf. One of my favourite things was the small town atmosphere, it really added to the story.

I loved the idea of the Swan season when the swan sisters came back to haunt the cursed town, seeking revenge for the pain they suffered at the town’s hands. What I really would have seen more of though, is more development for the sisters. I really loved the flashbacks to when the sisters were alive and the events that led to their deaths, but honestly, I would read a whole book about the sister’s lives two centuries ago.

What I felt was lacking, was the romance. They had some chemistry but yeah, not my favourite romance but it was nice. I did see the big twist coming, but, I did love it nonetheless. Also, this book reminded me why I love the paranormal genre and WE NEED MORE WITCHES IN YA PLEASE!

The writing is lovely. It is atmospheric, whimsical but dark, and it is what really drew me into the story. Shea Ernshaw is definitely on my list of authors-to-keep-my-eye-on. I will read whatever she writes next.

Overall, a book that I would highly recommend if you are looking for a dark and atmospheric read full of witches, secrets, and murder.

I really enjoyed the writing, but I think this was just a little too YA for me personally. There was no substance behind the story. It was very surface level with very little back story and explanation. Very strong with the insta love trope as well.
