Possibly the worst marketing for a book I've ever seen. This story has so much depth and nuance and raw p a i n. For anyone whose experienced trauma in the hands of brutal loved ones, this is a must-read. It's the perfect backdrop to nurse past trauma. Soft love, harsh cruelty side-by-side, as it often is. Just brilliant.

It took a while to get into the book but then I couldn't put it down! Bourne writes so realistically, you can really understand how the characters feel. Definitely recommend, but check the content warnings first
