This novel, in my opinion, deserves a place in my top 10 favorites to date. I enjoyed the skipping back and forth nature the novel possessed and some find it hard to follow but I grasped on quite well. The Tralfalmadorians? Are you kidding? Even the names are genius! This is truly one of those novels that make you think "What the heck is going on right now?" I truly loved it and it deserved the privilege to be mentioned in one of my literary analysis papers.

Thought-provoking. Very different. Idk what else to say, really.

I undertook this to support my son in his IB reading list. I’d eschewed it previously as one of those macho-men Hemingway (who I abhor) type books - but it’s not - way more clever, more subtle and thoughtful. Now should I read more of his books?

The crazy makes sense, the sad is funny, it's all so overwhelming that it feels like real life.

My copy was falling apart, which only added to the reading experience. Will definitely read another one but will also give myself a short break beforehand... otherwise I might also get abducted by a flying saucer.

On other days we have wars as horrible as any you've ever seen or read about. There isn't anything we can do about them, so we simply don't look at them. We ignore them. We spend eternity looking at pleasant moments - like today at the zoo. Isn't this a nice moment?

If what Billy Pilgrim learned from the Tralfamadorians is true, that we all live forever, no matter how dead we may sometimes seem to be, I am not overjoyed. Still - if I am going to spend eternity visiting this moment and that, I'm grateful that so many of those moments are nice.
