I loved this book. Angelou does an excellent job of captivating you with her words and conveying different emotions. Parts of this book were painful to read, but I felt as if she did a great job at helping the reader empathize with her point of view in those times. My only critique would be that the timeline was a little choppy, but it did not affect my enjoyment of the book as a whole.

Beautifully written. Whilst reading this, the voice in my head naturally tried mimic Angelou's beautiful, deep, eloquent voice.

I read this on audiobook and it was read by the author which I really enjoyed. I appreciated her honesty and her clear strong voice (through the writing). Looking forward to reading her other memoirs.
