As always, I loved, loved, loved the world(s) Cogman creates, the chaos and the order, the fae and the dragons. But what I loved the most was Irene Winters and the chance to see a bit more of Vale. I was hoping to have him more on the spotlight or at least see a bit of his deduction abilities as a Sherlock, but anyway. whatever Genevieve Cogman throws at me, I love with all my heart. This will be one of the highlights of my year for sure. ♥

Having finished the fifth book in The Invisible Library series I definitely give the series a thumbs up. Ms. Cogman has created a rather believable world with a good set of characters all based on a love of reading. Well, ok. So there's theft and spying and dragons and Fae and adventures of all sorts. But, really, I think she wrote this series because she really likes to read. Well, ok. And she wishes she could be a daring adventuress with a dragon lover and working alongside Sherlock Holmes. But all of those adventures would be about books! Well, ok. And Fae plots and dragon politics and saving a world or two. And dressing pretty. And other stuff like that.

The actual fictional adventuress, Irene, reminds me a lot of Thursday Next. (start with [b:The Eyre Affair|27003|The Eyre Affair (Thursday Next, #1)|Jasper Fforde|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1445540555s/27003.jpg|3436605] if you don't know her) She's clever, strong, adventurous, and resourceful. And full of self-doubt. And maybe a little withdrawn. But headstrong for sure!

Anyway, I've enjoyed them all and look forward to what I hear are at least three more.
