I really enjoyed this book, there wasn't a dull moment during it which added to the intensity of the moment. This was my first Doctor/Rose novel and I enjoyed it their dynamic from the series was evident and their playful banter and wonderment came out well in the book. I'm still a little iffy on the ending. It seemed a bit too cliche for a Dr. Who book and it seemed like an 'end' instead of a continuation of their story. Though I can imagine it would be difficult to be able to figure out a way to end this story. The plot was great, and the silent 'killers' are always interesting to see in Dr. Who because you aren't sure how they'll come to an end. Very enjoyable. A nice quick read too.

Cute book, not particularly memorable, but I liked the way Rose and the Doctor's relationship was portrayed. They're best friends, and this book shows it very well.

Don't read this when you're eating. Having said that, wasn't as disgusting as the synopsis made it feel. The pacing though could've definitely used a boost..

I didn't connect with this one as much as I was hoping to. I love that David Tennant narrates this book though. He is an amazing narrator. But I just wasn't into it. I don't know if I'm in another book slump or what, but I have been finding it hard to concentrate on and connect with a lot of the books I'm reading today.

Definitely one of the best installments in this series. A well thought out plot that wasn't too convoluted, and pretty scary baddies evocative of those in Waters of Mars. I liked that we got to know some of the minor characters well and they actually stayed throughout the entire journey and not just a couple of scenes (Keisha and Vida, and tbh I love me a good Mickey appearance). I wish that Rose was a bit more closely involved, she felt very separate for a big portion of the book, and in this way Vida sort of felt like she took Rose's place. But also strangely the Doctor was on his own for a fair chunk of the story too. I guess this made it unique from some of the other stories because other people got a chance to shine - I really liked following Vida/Keisha/Mickey's input to solve the problem. The Doctor is also quite cheeky and smitten with Rose in this which is always going to score high in my books.
