The action in this book is not nearly as riveting as books 1 and 2. There are a lot of exposition chapters. However the ending is incredibly satisfying. I'd give this 3.5 stars if I was able.

That was weird. *awkward silence* Last week I read Jeffrey Deaver's new book, The Steel Kiss. That was a wild roller-coaster ride and I enjoyed every minute of it. This... this was a crazy tilt-a-whirl ride into the Twilight Zone. I spent every moment trying to hold on for dear life and struggling to understand where this plot was going, and why. Now that it's over, I still don't understand it. The worst part is that I loved the first two books in the series so much and now I feel like I have just wasted all of that time, and am so disappointed.

It got a bit jumbled in the middle there and lost me for a minute, but the end reveal was all worth it. Now the whole series makes sense. Awesome, fun read.

The last book the void I was ugly crying first from anger then from happiness. In the third book Mercy really still hasn’t had a chance to see her powers come to full power yet. The anchors of the line still want her either gone or completely in the dark. The horrid anchors are so convinced that Mercy is apart of this whacked out prophecy. The anchors are so controlled by their fears they start killing Mercy’s unborn child calling it the abomination a being without a soul brought to human form. Little do they know that they are too late. Mercy is the “abomination” that Emily and Eric worked so hard to create through the dark magic of Talanzia. Mercy is the embodiment of the line, and as the anchors try to destroy her they are aiding the three rebel families complete the prophecy. Thank God for Mother Jilo though because her loving words pull Mercy from her pity party, and help her save her family.
Maisy is back but is still in la-la- land. Once Maisy gets back to getting a grasp on reality she is a very powerful witch and ally. Book three you are just engulfed into the book. You are apart of the Taylor, Tierney, and Mother Jilo clan!

LAME ending ... wow, I'm almost sorry I wasted my time on this series. I really can't comment on anything without spoiling the ending ...
Spoiler Turns out Mercy IS the LINE!?!?!?!

Her mother and Eric worked to cast a spell that merged a part of the line with a human ... Mercy. Maisie wasn't suppose to be. Jenny wasn't the horrible ogre everyone thought.

Maisie ends up with Mercy's life ... because Mercy has to undo herself?!?!

... and Mercy ends up with Emmett? ...

There's one more in the series, but I think I'm done.

Lots of "evil villain" speeches.

All in all, it was a fun series, the first is still my favorite.

the most repetitive and overblown book of the series. the 3 books together make a nice set, but I almost wish they were condensed into 1. once you take out all the paragraphs reiterating what happened in past books and chapters, you really cut the books down quite a bit. I'll definitely recommend them to people who like witchy books though!
