Kimberly Lemming may have become my top tier author for spicy romantasy books. That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon was absolutely thrilling, engaging, hilarious, and of course more than 3nough spice to sink your teeth into. The way Cinnamon had me sweating one moment and cackling the next was truly remarkable. She is a strong badass woman who is extremely unapologetic. I feel like my only complaint was the male love interest Fallon. I felt he could have been quite a bit more progressive (while still holding on to that core strength and power) instead of being so misogynistic and alpha male. But at the end of the day the story was about Cinnamon and her journey, so I still thoroughly enjoyed it overall. If a spicy rom-com with some high octane adventure sounds intriguing to you, definitely get this book a try.
One thing to note (as a whole lot of 1-2 star reviews I've seen complained about) there is modern day vernacular in this book. I do not understand why people HAVE to force their preconceived notions of real world medieval vernacular onto fantasy worlds, but if that bothers you, you may not enjoy this book as much.

At the very least , if you're gonna read try to find a physical copy. The cover art is BEAUTIFUL and what drew my attention in the first place. Shoutout to Alexia E. Pereira and Mike Pape for the hard work on it.

This monster romance is spicy and surprisingly violent while being super silly and altogether as Unserious as possible. I even did a dramatic reading of select passages for a coworker during our downtime. The romance built well and honestly, the only big minus for me was the weird dip into a city brimming with demon slavery. It felt like since most people seemed to join their side once they realized demons aren’t mindless killing machines, they could have done a little more talking and a little less map-erasing. They hurt you so I must burn this city to the ground only holds so much sway with me before I feel like… okay buddy, calm down. Also the ending scene felt repetitive to me. But other than that I really liked it and I think this flavor of monster romance that doesn’t take itself too seriously works for me. I will definitely read the rest of the series.
Also, bonus points for the detailed content warning from the author at the beginning.

Full transparency, the dialogue is a bit cringe at times and the first sexy scene came out of nowhere. But the rest of those scenes are right where they should be. The main character, Cinnamon, is HILARIOUS, has a love of cheese and mead and I fell in love with her. The demon she saves made me seriously think about walking into the woods on purpose to find my own. The action scenes were pretty damn good, as well.
