I think if it wasn't trying to be a mystery/thriller and more of a family drama, I would have liked this book more. There are parts of the relationship amongst the family members that are interesting and thought-provoking, and by far my favorite character was Diana. However, as a mystery/thriller, it was only about 15% of the book and was pretty bland in suspense and the reveal.

I could not put this book down. I loved the different perspectives from Diana and Lucy and going back & forth in time. It was set up perfectly to me and I loved the anticipation of learning why the relationship was so bad.
The arc of Lucy and Diana’s relationship was beautiful and shocking. I had no idea that was coming. I wish we saw more from Nettie’s perspective. Great thriller!

I genuinely didn't think any of these characters were redeemable, but Diane actually grew on me.

Not just a story of mystery, but of miscommunication, misunderstandings, and misgivings... I enjoyed it!

Absolutely flew through this book. I know Sally Hepworth has talked in the past of always adding a hook at the end of her chapters, and a hook she did! She is an auto buy author for me and this book has only encouraged that more. I found the miscommunication to be a little bit frustrating, but all in all a book I wasn’t willing to put down.

I particularly enjoy the way she writes little sections throughout the book of quotes you’d hear from people about the same scenarios but different groups of people (like Mothers in law and what they say about their daughters in law). It’s creative and funny!

I also loved the way Sally Hepworth tied in some rather serious topics, and the different POV’s so you might love a character in one POV, and hate her in another.
